DEADLY FIREND – PATCHES / SLASHES

Deadly Firend is a true indie punk, musician and visual artist from Warsaw. Bibi and her band released two albums on Peleton Records in one day, or maybe split up the one into two parts so that there is enough for everyone. SLASHES came out first, and 5 minutes later PATCHES, so let’s reverse the chronological order

Depressive guitars, illogical drawings, high fever, catching up with you in a circle. In some points it resembles the album Sister from Sonic Youth, in others it smells like Pornography. Finally some real live drums. I don’t think I’ve heard them for a hundred years. A good and sad record, has nothing to do with gothic culture.

SLASHES is slightly more mysterious mood than PATCHES, more electronics, drum machines and guitar strumming. The more complex and less clear part of the doublet.

As a result, after listening to both albums several times, I realized that PATCHES is closer to me, it is more understandable, and I like it when it is understandable.
