It was 30 years ago that a gang of schoolmates from Novosibirsk Secondary #10 started a rock band, soon to be known as Hot Zex. Today they are lauded as Russia’s shoegaze and noise rock pioneers, who grabbed their bit of international fame.

To mark this anniversary, the US label Disappearing Records will release a remastered reissue (with plenty of unreleased bonus material) of the entire Hot Zex catalogue on vinyl, CD and cassette.

A full-length documentary “Hot Zex — Sound Waves from Siberia” will accompany the release.
